Dionysus is the Olympian god of wine. He is imprisoned in Camp Half-Blood for 50 years because of chasing a wood nymph. He is married to Ariadne. He is the son of Zeus and the princess Semele. He is very lighthearted and a skilled pinochle player. His symbols are grapes and ivy and his sacred animal is the panther. He grows strawberries on the camp's border so that the camp gets income from it.

Distinguishing features: Leopard-skin shirt, walkimg shorts, purple socks, the general pasty demeanor of someone who has been up partying too late.

He is a centaur who can live as long as he continues to teach. He is currently working as an Activities Director at Camp Half-Blood.He is a skilled pinochle player.
